Online Safety

Our children's wellbeing, happiness and safety is of utmost importance here at High Littleton Church of England Primary School, and our pupils' safety while they are online is of no exception. We strive to deliver a curriculum and education that instils and equips our children for the ever-growing digital world that we live in.

Online safety has a high profile with our team of dedicated teachers delivering online safety sessions that are embedded into our computing curriculum and our PSHE curriculum in order to keep our children alert and aware.

Education for a Connected World

Children have the right to enjoy childhood online, to access safe online spaces, and to benefit from all the opportunities that a connected world can bring to them, appropriate to their age and stage.

As they grow older, it is crucial that they learn to balance the benefits offered by technology with a critical awareness of their own and other’s online behaviour and develop effective strategies for staying safe and making a positive contribution online.

We focus on the following eight strands to support children to live knowledgeably, responsibly and safely in a digital world.

  • Self-image and Identity
  • Online relationships
  • Online reputation
  • Online bullying
  • Managing online information
  • Health, wellbeing and lifestyle
  • Privacy and security
  • Copyright and ownership
