It can really help children progress when they know their parents’ involvement goes way beyond the school gate. The PTA – Parents and Teachers Association – and the School Council make it easy for all parents to join in and help the school.
The PTA is a volunteer group of parents, grandparents and teachers who organise a variety of fun and exciting events throughout the year to raise funds for the ‘extras’ which cannot be funded by the school budget to enhance the children’s learning experience.
The PTA committee, comprises of;
Rosie O'Rourke and Becky Harvey - Joint Chair
Roxy Mattock - Secretary
Jade Corp - Treasurer
The PTA is a crucial part of our school life, especially at these times where educational funding is limited. We contribute regularly to Class trips, Leavers day’s events and gifts, parties, Science, reading and dance workshops, clothing, books, flooring, cookery and ICT equipment.
During the academic year 2016 - 2017 we donated £15,775.94
During the academic year 2017 - 2018 we donated £23,998.59
Recent donations have been spent on renovating the outside play area and building a new sand pit as well as providing providing equipment for OPAL. Regular contributions are made to support school trips for all school years.
Donations have also allowed the school to purchase guided reading books for the infants and a mud kitchen for all the children to enjoy.
We look forward to continuing to support the school and pupils in raising funds to enhance their education and learning experience.
We would ask for your support in attending the events we run and also with any help that you may be able to offer, together with any new ideas or feedback!
