I hope you have all had a good weekend!  Miss Angel and I really enjoyed speaking to most of you last week – it was lovely to hear your voices and that you are all keeping well!  Here is your work for Monday, you can do the activities in any order.  White Rose Maths can be accessed through our school website.

Daily activities

·         Try some GoNoodle dances https://family.gonoodle.com/ or some fun dance/movement videos at https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers or go for a walk

·         Read an ebook using Oxford Owl

·         Watch an episode of numberblocks or alphablocks on CBeebies or YouTube

·         Whizz quickly through your tricky words and sounds using powerpoints I’ve sent

Maths

As usual, some mental maths to begin with, I have also set a Doodlemaths task:

Play a ‘My turn, Your turn’ game – this is when your grown up says “double 1” and you answer “2”, then “double 2” and you answer “4”, etc, (grown-ups say the doubles in order first, it is too tricky to mix them up at the moment!)

English Key Skills

Reception - practise spelling the tricky words (five times each!) some come little.  You can use chalk, pencil, rainbow writing, felt pens, paint, try putting these words into sentences or use them to write a sentence and draw a picture in your daily diary!

Y1 – use the attached powerpoint about adding the suffix ’ing’ and then choose one of the follow-up activities (you have a choice of two activities – whichever you choose, the first sheet is the easiest!)

Afternoon activity – A Visit to Buckingham Palace

Back in Term 2, we learned all about the Queen and her central London home, Buckingham Palace.  I would like you to take a virtual tour of Buckingham Palace using this link https://www.royal.uk/royal-residences-buckingham-palace  Have a look at all the different rooms, you could use this virtual tour https://www.royal.uk/virtual-tours-buckingham-palace  What do you think of the Queen’s house?  Did you spot The Throne Room?

Reception – You can choose from the following activities!  Design a new throne for the Queen in your workbook or use the attached sheets (if you wish) to design a crown for the Queen.  You can make your own drawing or I have also attached a cut and stick activity: colour the gems, cut them out and stick to create your own crown.  Have fun!

Year One – Set 2Do activity on Purple Mash ‘Buckingham Palace Facts’.  Can you remember and write four facts about Buckingham Palace on Purple Mash?  Of course Year Ones, you can also have a go the Reception task and design your own royal throne or crown!
