Hi Hedgehog Class

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to get outside between the rain. I enjoyed talking to you last week,; if I didn't get hold of you, I will be trying again tomorrow.
Here is your plan for Monday's home learning. Remember to complete all tasks, but you can do them in any order.

Using the link https://bit.ly/34KsiFS
Watch the episode live at 1030am. This will be looking at the sound i_e

I would also like you to practise spelling your common exception words: one, once, friend, school
Write each word out using the look, cover, write and check approach. Can you do this 5 times?
Once you have done this, write a sentence using each of the words.

We are going into week 3 of your white rose maths learning.
-Can all of you complete year one week 3 lesson one (part-whole relationships number bonds)  https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/
-Year two, if you want to challenge yourselves by completing week 3 lesson 1 (fact families bonds to 20) https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/
Grown-ups you will know which tasks are appropriate for your child, but it is good revision for all children to complete the year one activity.
-Please also complete your 'x a day' on Doodle Maths.

Continuing with our topic work on London. You are going to study some important landmarks in London. A landmark is defined as a prominent or well-known object in, or feature of,  a particular place. Please tell your children about this. We are going to look at Buckingham Palace as a very important place in London. The children should remember some things about why Buckingham Palace might be special as we learnt all about Queen Elizabeth II all the way back in Term 2. Please find attached a powerpoint with some information about Buckingham Palace and watch the following virtual tour

As a follow up activity, I have set a 'to-do' on Purple Mash which requires you to fill in some facts about Buckingham Palace. I expect Y1 to complete 4 facts and Y2 to complete 6.

Daily Activities:
- complete your home diary
-read a book to your grown up
- start the day with some exercise to get your mind and body moving
- always be kind

And most important, have a good day!

Miss Wheeler
