Hello Hedgehog Class,
I hope you have managed to have a good day and settle back in to home learning. I am so proud of you for working so hard at home as I know it is such a challenging and different time.
Tomorrow is Tuesday which means it is Big Write day. The plan for Big Write tomorrow is to write a description of Paddington Bear as we will begin to look at a number of his stories in reading and writing.
Please watch the following video and enjoy the story.
Next I would like you to complete the planning sheet which consists of two halves; one half to describe what Paddington looks like and one half to think of words to describe what kind of bear you think he is. Is he kind? Is he lonely? Is he excited?
Once you have completed your planning sheet I then expect you to put these words into full sentences. Please remind your children to use capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and challenge them to use conjunctions (joining words like 'and' 'so' 'but' 'because). I would like you to hand write your Big Write in your home learning book this week. Year one I expect you to complete at least 5 sentences. Year two I expect you to complete at least 7 sentences and be using conjunctions. Please feel free to upload/send pictures of your writing to me.
After this I would like you to do a piece of Science work. Miss Bidwell has been busy at home planning your Science learning for this term and I know she is excited to know how you get on and hopes you enjoy it. Remember this term we are learning about Plants. I have attached a powerpoint about naming the parts of a plant and as a follow up activity Miss Bidwell would like you to draw a flower/plant and add labels to show your understanding.
Remember to try to enjoy the sunshine when you can and always try to start the day with some kind of exercise. Grown-ups try to keep to a routine as best as possible and have fruit and regular breaks like we would at school.
Hope you have a lovely day.
