Dear Deer Class,
There were some very impressive scores on SPaG.com today so well done to those who completed these as well as their DM. That said, I am beginning to see some children who seem to be opting out of the online work. Parents, please let me know if the child is unwell or unable to complete work - I am happy to share with you if there are gaps in what your child is completing. I believe that Doodlemaths might have been ‘playing up’ these past few days?!?!
Try to stick to the timetable as best you can, but I understand it may have to be adapted.
9:00: Joe Wicks workout on Youtube or another physical activity.
9:30-10:30 CONTINUED: See the attached modelled piece of writing. I would like you to write about the clip ‘Tabula Rasa’ which you gathered vocabulary about last week. Focus on varying your sentence structure (subordinate openers, relative clauses and parentheses, short sentences for dramatic affect); using a wide variety of vocabulary; using prepositional phrases to open sentences. This will be writing can be spread over two days so don’t rush it and remember to keep editing as you go. Parents - I know all of your children can complete at least a page of writing. Personally, I am teaching my own Year 6 child who seems to be losing the ability to do anything without a 1-1 teacher beside him! I would hate for the children to be ‘pulling the wool over your eyes’.
11:00-11:45 10 minute Booster Books SPaG1 B4 Reading 1 B4; Maths 1 B4 (and if you have the challenge bk B3 and B4 as well) These should take around 10 minutes plus you can mark them yourself.
13:00-14:00 Extra PE in the garden this afternoon - I want you to get a sweat on! Set up circuits and include ball skills as well.
14:00-15:00: Make sure you are up to speed with all of your DM and SPaG.com. Read you own reading book and finish your ICDM.
Have a great day.
