Dear Deer Class,

Can I begin by saying a huge well done to Ben, Henry, Matilda, Ruby and Flo who, at the time of checking, have completed all of their DoodleMaths. I have removed some of the old ones that have been missed from previous days as this can begin causing problems and locking things. I  can see almost all of you have been doing the daily practice as well and are ‘on-track’.

Try to stick to the timetable as best you can, but I understand it may have to be adapted.

Tuesday’s timetable:

9:00: Joe Wicks workout on YouTube or another physical activity.

9:30-10:30 See the attached modelled piece of writing. I would like you to write about the clip ‘Tabula Rasa’ which you gathered vocabulary about last week. Focus on varying your sentence structure (subordinate openers, relative clauses and parentheses, short sentences for dramatic affect); using a wide variety of vocabulary; using prepositional phrases to open sentences. This will be writing can be spread over two days so don’t rush it and remember to keep editing as you go.

10:30-11:00 Break

11:00-11:45 The Girl of Ink and Stars - If you have been keeping up, you should be about to start Chapter 18 which is the beginning of the section called the Labyrinth. I am going to let you finish the book at your own pace now (it must be finished by the end of the Easter holidays). I’ve been really enjoying this part of the book as things have sped up and the action has increased. You can continue to use the discussion guide to help reflect on the book.

11:45 ICDM

12:00 Lunch

13:00-14:00 I have set two SPaG.coms plus you need to catch up with Doodlemaths.

Attached is the answer page for yesterday’s riddles.

Have a great day.
