Dear Badger Class Parents,
How are the Science investigations going? The children should be recording their observations in their Results section of their Science. For their Friday's Science lesson, if at all possible, the children will need a flower that they can dissect. A Lilly is ideal as the parts of the flower are very clear to see. Obviously, care should be taken to keep the pollen away from fabric as it can stain.
Below is a letter to the Badgers explaining the work that I expect them to do tomorrow (Thursday).
They have been given new spellings (see below) and I have also set them a 2Do on Purple Mash which tests them on last week’s spellings.
They will also need to carry on with White Rose Maths (Lesson 4.) Note the video links can be found on the letter to Badgers alternatively, you can find the video on our school website in the Home Learning/Whole school Learning/White Rose Maths tab. The worksheets and answers are attached. Further support and extension maths can be found on BBC Bitesize Maths Daily Lessons for each year group which. link with the White Rose lesson.
I Can Do Maths: the children need to complete and check their test for the week ready for marking tomorrow.
Big Write is attached. It is the last big write that is based on the Marshmallows film clip. They are to write the whole story from the perspective of the boy. I would suggest that you go through the instructions together and reinforce the expectation of writing in first person (I) and past tense. Once they are clear on what they are being asked to do, I would anticipate that they should be writing for at least 30 minutes (some will take longer than this).
Mrs Bailey and I have also suggested some daily expectations such as reading regularly and some staying active ideas should you need them. They are on the letter to the children.
As usual, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on our YouTube channel is available to read if you haven’t already done so. The links are on the website under Home Learning/Badger /Lion, Witch and Wardrobe.
Please don’t hesitate to email me via the school office with any queries, concerns or achievements.
Very best regards,
